Our General Approach to ensure compliance with the PSDP duties.

  • Complete a Desktop and site review of the projects.
  • Liaise with appointed designers about their design and attend regular design meetings, with PSDP inputs.
  • Submit AF1 form on behalf of the client if required.
  • Review any existing safety file information on the proposed site / existing infrastructure; and ensure this is made available to the design team and contractor tendering the works.
  • Development of design risk register as the design phase develops.
  • Complete a Design safety review – normally arranged between 70 – 80% during the design phase.
  • Request and Review of Designer risk assessments.
  • Prepare a Preliminary Safety & Health Plan.
  • Attend constructability review with the appointed contractor / PSCS.
  • Evaluating and assessing design development and design changes during the construction stage.
  • Coordinate required temporary works with the PSCS for the project.
  • Co-ordinate with contractors who have a design portion / liability.
  • Collation of project safety file post construction,
    Be available at all times to advise the design team, PSCS and client on H&S related matters.

PROJECT PROFILE - Fexco International Centre Killorglin

The Fexco International Centre Killorglin development is located on the national secondary roadway (N72), approximately 2.5 km from Killorglin town. Several phases of works have been completed on site in preparation for the iHUB fit-out phase of the project.

This project involved the construction of 3 storey extension of the south side of the existing library in the University of Limerick. Works involved the construction and installation of a book retrieval system, special collection, exhibition spaces, study spaces, reading rooms, training room, welfare, and a moot court.

The development consists of the construction of 28 new units on a site which is in the ownership of Cork City Council.
The site is located in the Glen, south of Glen Avenue. It will be accessed from Glen Avenue and the existing Errigal Heights road.
Site is currently an open green space, following the demolition of 36 flats in 2010. Site area: 1.0947ha, of which 0.7966ha is suitable for development.

The project involves the construction of a Centre of Excellence on a green field site, located on the north side of the main pitch at Virgin Media Park.
The works include but are not limited to the following.
Construction of an indoor sports hall (1980 m²) with a synthetic pitch. Construction of administration building which will include the construction of the following ground floor functions:

This Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) development is located on Farranlea Road in Cork City and consists of a 145-bed student accommodation including a reception area, meeting rooms and common social areas for students.
The works involved the demolition of an existing warehouse building and the construction of two new RC framed building structures up to storeys in height. The RC frame structure comprises in-situ reinforced concrete flat slabs supported by in-situ columns and walls which are in turn supported on shallow pad foundations.
