First Aid Courses FAQs

Our first aid courses equip employees with the skills needed to safely administer first aid in the event of an emergency. By the end of the course, the First Aid Responders will have the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to give effective life support, diagnose and treat injuries or illness, and maintain care of a patient until the arrival of emergency services.

Our mental health courses aim to support organisations and their staff in caring for their mental health. The vital importance of mental health care is increasingly recognised, especially during tumultuous global events, and so it is essential that workplaces are prepared for mental health crises just as they would be for physical health problems.

In the event of a medical emergency, the response of those around the ill person can make the difference between life and death, or a full recovery versus serious ongoing health conditions. So administering good first aid is a key skill that all employees should learn.

On completion of our beginner’s first aid course, the First Aid Responder will be equipped with the necessary practical skills, knowledge, and confidence to give effective life support, diagnose and treat injuries or illness, and maintain the care and comfort of a patient until the arrival of emergency medical services. This course also includes training in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and the skills necessary to perform Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). The points covered include assessing the patient; incident procedures; information on common medical emergencies; injury management and dealing with shock; care of an unconscious patient; burns and electrical injury care; hypothermia and hyperthermia; plus a focus on the wellbeing of the First Aid Responder after the incident.

Our mental health course covers:

  • Research into the effects of stress and negative thinking.
  • Exploring learned behaviours and perspectives.
  • Empowering approaches to fear, failure, and insecurity.
  • Practical exercises to relax and rejuvenate the system.
  • The role of compassion and how this impacts authenticity.
